About Us

Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center is located in Southeastern Kentucky, in Corbin, adjacent to the I-75 corridor. We provide many services including 24-hour nursing, physicians, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy services. We also provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

We emphasize lifelong learning, personal growth, well-being and health. We offer everything needed for long-term care, or short-term rehabilitation (both inpatient and outpatient). Our facilities offer calm, comfortable surroundings to enhance personal freedom and dignity.

Our facility features a library, private chapel, secure courtyard, private room options, a beauty parlor, and a physician’s lounge. Each large room has a private bathroom. The recreation areas are spacious. The private courtyard is accessible from our common areas. Our well-equipped rehabilitation facility is fully staffed, and offers both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative care.

Our facility offers 24-hour nursing care, physicians, pharmaceutical services, lab services, along with speech, physical and occupational therapies. We also feature special menus and diets, created and monitored carefully by a registered dietitian.

These activities are designed to help give our residents the opportunity to not only maintain but improve their quality of life. We feature a beautiful lobby area and quaint, cozy dayrooms for families and residents to visit or have activities together such as birthday parties. Residents and families can also enjoy a cozy front porch with ceiling fans for southern comfort or the garden areas where we host cookouts during summer months.

Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center offers phone and cable connections in each room, electronic security, individual heating and air units, private and semi-private rooms, the Wanderguard System, and Hospice services. Who We Are

GAIL GIBBS | Administrator

Our administrator, has 17 ½ years of experience in Long Term Care Administration, which began with our family of facilities in December of 1998. She has been the Administrator of Hillcrest since transferring from a sister facility in 2008. She oversees the daily operations of the facility in all departments. Gail has a Bachelors of Science in Social Work with an emphasis on Geriatrics from Eastern Kentucky University. She was born and raised in Whitley County, where she continues to reside today.

PENNY PARTIN | Director of Nursing

Penny Partin has been a registered nurse since 1998, and the Director of Nursing at Hillcrest since 2008. She was a nursing supervisor at a sister facility prior to being promoted to the Director of Nursing at our facility. She is responsible for overseeing the nursing staffing and care here. She is originally from Bell County and received her degree at Southeast Community College. She lives in Laurel County.

Kelli Nicholson| Director of Dietary Services

Kelli Nicholson is our Director of Dietary Services. She has a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Eastern Kentucky University. She has been working at our facility since 2014, and brought with her a background in both long term care and hospital dietary services. She is passionate about ensuring residents have appetizing and healthy meals and snacks that they enjoy.

PHYLLIS HENSLEY | Housekeeping Supervisor

Phyllis Hensley has been the Housekeeping Director at our facility since 2008. She has a background in management and housekeeping services, which has assisted her in running such a strong housekeeping/laundry department here. Phyllis is from Knox County, where she continues to reside today.

TINA HIBBARD | Activities Director

Tina Hibbard has been the Activities Director at our facility since November of 2008, and has also completed the state training course for activity coordinators. She coordinates the various independent and group activities for our residents, as well as performing weekly shopping for them. She has worked with various age groups and environments throughout her life and feels that she is at her best while helping others. Tina is originally from Knox County, and now resides in Laurel County.

KELLI SMITH | Rehabilitation Manager

Kelli Smith has been the Rehabilitation Manager at our facility since 2011. She has a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University. She facilitates the therapy services for OT, PT, and ST for both in-patient and out-patient therapies at our facility. She was born and raised in Laurel County, where she continues…
